Energy Aspects is seeking an experienced European Power Analyst to join our growing European Power markets team, based in London. We launched our European Power markets service in October 2024 and are now ready to expand and strengthen our coverage.
The successful candidate will have experience analyzing policy and regulatory changes, supply and demand fundamentals, and market movements to forecast power market prices in one or more European power markets. We expect this would require the candidate to have spent 2 or more years working in European power markets.
You will have strong data analysis and communication skills and a demonstrated understanding of, and passion for, energy markets.
You will work largely in Excel, but knowledge of Python will be helpful. You will assist in running and enhancing our in-house power market modeling tools, but this role is not purely technical; you will be expected to produce compelling written research on changes to the European electricity system and how these impact power market prices. This is a client-facing role, and you must be able to present your work clearly and communicate effectively with clients at all levels.
Our clients value our forecasts and market views, and our analytical work is focused on creating forward-looking insights backed by data. Ideally, you will have experience in forecasting methods, time series analysis, statistics, and energy economics. We will also give you the opportunity to further develop these skills in collaboration with our market experts.
This position requires flexibility and the drive to go beyond core hours when needed, ensuring we meet our goals. All team members are encouraged to build their professional reputation within the industry. You must be able to work independently, as well as plan and prioritize to achieve success. In return, we offer excellent remuneration, a high-performance culture, and challenging and exciting work. The role will be hybrid, with the option to work remotely one day per week.
Our team has a deep intellectual curiosity for the energy transition, its impact on markets and pricing, and the policy changes driving it. To be part of this team, you will need to demonstrate this curiosity.
European languages would be an advantage but are not essential.
