What you'll be doing:
Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture by following site rules, wearing appropriate PPE, reporting incidents via AVA (Eco Online), and using 'Stop the Job' authority when observing unsafe conditions
Monitor and operate plant equipment using remote control systems (SCADA), respond to plant failures outside normal hours according to roster, and report maintenance requirements to the Site Manager
Conduct daily monitoring and logging of operational parameters, perform routine plant inspections, and provide accurate reporting through the CMMS
Oversee site deliveries including chemicals, monitor third-party contractors, and ensure all work complies with performance management systems, quality standards, and health & safety legislation
Manage consumables inventory (fuel, chemicals, lab supplies, grit salt) and report depleted stocks to line management
Assist Maintenance Technicians during repairs by cleaning and preparing plant equipment, and provide support during abnormal situations such as plant shutdowns or license exceedances
Perform general housekeeping duties, manage and report spillages correctly, check tools and equipment before use, and maintain equipment certification registers (e.g., PED, lifting equipment)
What we're looking for:
Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively interact with site management, contractors, and team members
Proficient time management and informed decision-making abilities to prioritise tasks, respond to emergencies, and manage daily operational responsibilities
Foundation level IT proficiency for operating monitoring systems (SCADA), CMMS software, and digital reporting tools (AVA/Eco Online)
Comprehensive health and safety awareness including Asbestos, Chemical Safety, CoSHH, DSEAR, Fire Safety, HAVS, Legionella, and Working at Height protocols
Technical safety competencies including Mechanical Isolation, Permit to Work, Thinksafe Isolations, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and Pressure Jetting Awareness
Practical operational skills including Slinging and Signaling certification and Emergency First Aid qualificationWhat's next?
