About the Role As a Residential Child Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to children and young people with a range of complex needs and backgrounds.
The young people we support may experience:
Learning disabilities
Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Placement breakdowns in foster or adoptive homes
Poor mental health and social/emotional difficulties
Attachment disorders
Criminal exploitation or child sexual exploitation
Substance misuse
Inappropriate sexualised behaviours
Self-harm or suicidal ideation
Vulnerabilities and risks within the community
You will play a key role in creating a safe, stable and nurturing environment while supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and develop independence.
Key Responsibilities Supporting young people with day-to-day routines and activities
Building positive and trusting relationships
Promoting emotional wellbeing and independence
Managing behaviours using calm and therapeutic approaches
Ensuring the safety and welfare of young people at all times
Completing daily records and handovers
Working closely with permanent staff and external professionals
Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must:
Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive
Have a minimum of 6 months experience working with children or young people Residential childcare
Supported accommodation
Schools
Youth work or similar settings
Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
Be flexible to work a variety of shifts
Be able to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week
