The Role
As a Civil Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of highways and drainage schemes for residential, commercial, and mixed‑use developments. Working within an experienced and supportive team, you’ll contribute to projects from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Design highways in accordance with relevant standards (e.g., Section 38, Section 278)
* Prepare drainage strategies and detailed drainage design (including SuDS)
* Produce technical drawings, specifications, and design calculations
* Liaise with local authorities, statutory consultees, and clients
* Support planning applications and technical approvals
* Attend project and client meetings
About You
* Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* Experience in highways and drainage design within a consultancy environment
* Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage)
* Working knowledge of UK design standards and approval processes
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Progressing towards or already achieved professional chartership (ICE or similar) – desirable
