ROLE: Generator Commissioning Engineer
LOCATION: London
Our client, Notion4 Limited, is seeking an experienced Generator Commissioning Engineer to join their Special Projects Division. The role involves supporting projects from initial design through to delivery, commissioning, and final handover. This position is ideal for a highly skilled engineer with a strong technical background in generator systems who aims to advance into project management and delivery. The projects involve complex, high-value installations requiring expertise in synchronisation and fault-finding.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commission and fault-find on low-voltage generator systems up to 3MVA.
2. Set up and commission synchronising systems, including island mode and mains paralleling configurations.
3. Support the project lifecycle from design input to site installation, commissioning, and handover.
4. Liaise with clients, site teams, project managers, and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
5. Work with systems from manufacturers such as DeepSea, ComAp, Woodward, and FG Wilson.
6. Operate within industry and project-specific standards, particularly BS7671.
7. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and site requirements.
8. Assist in developing project documentation and tracking using tools such as Microsoft Office and Project.
9. Proven experience in commissioning and fault-finding on generators up to 3MVA.
10. Experience with synchronisation systems in both island and mains parallel modes.
11. Familiarity with generator controls and support systems, including fuel systems, exhaust flues, and air movement.
12. Proficiency with DeepSea, ComAp, Woodward, and FG Wilson systems.
13. Current ECS/CSCS card and eligibility to work on construction sites.
14. SSSTS certification (or willingness to obtain).
15. Strong communication skills and a professional approach to stakeholder interaction.
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
17. Legal right to work and reside permanently in the UK.
