Job Title: Interim Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (Highways)
Location: Milton Keynes / Hybrid
Contract: 6-months ongoing
Pay: £250 / £300 per day DOE

A local authority based in the Milton Keynes are currently recruiting for an Interim Quantity Surveyor.
Main Responsibilities
With a number of significant and exciting development sites underway throughout the borough, Bedford Borough Council is looking for anQuantitySurveyorto assist the SeniorQuantitySurveyorin the delivery of several key projects to support the busy in-house engineering team.
The ideal candidate would have previous finance experience and understand the principles regarding double entry accounting, can undertake transaction reconciles and year end accruals. It would be advantageous if the candidate also has prior use of finance software and has experience of raising purchase orders, goods receipting, general ledger management and budget reporting.
Qualifications/Experience
Working proactively and be able to confidently communicate and work the team to meet challenging, changing deadlines and workloads.
Working in a commercial and customer focussed way which achieves programmes, meets performance targets, generates and income for the engineering team and meets the council’s corporate objectives.
Undertaking assessment of quotations, valuations, and final accounts.
Having an awareness of the Method of Measurement for Highway Works.
Excel: As a minimum requirement, the role would require an intermediate level o
Excel skills and demonstrate the ability to: compare sets of financial data and reporting on the differences and anomalies using basic sum formulas, compare report data utilising V-lookup formulas, and to be able to analyse data and produce accurate reports for cost reporting and budget monitoring.
The candidate would show willingness to build upon their current Excel knowledge to develop their skills further
