The Company
The Shore Group are working with a leading Design and Build Office Fit Out business located in Birmingham for the recruitment of a Mid-Weight Interior Designer.
As Mid-Weight Interior Designer you will be part of our client’s in-house design team working collaboratively with project managers, technical specialists, and construction teams to deliver fully coordinated, buildable design solutions from concept through to completion.
You will support project delivery and providing technical expertise across multiple live projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver coordinated, compliant, and technically robust design packages.
* Produce detailed RIBA Stage 2–4 drawing packages using AutoCAD and Revit
* Technical detailing packages, including door, ironmongery, and furniture schedules
* Produce, maintain, and support essential design documentation
* Develop interior design information from concept through to construction stage
* Demonstrate competence in UK Building Regulations
* Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, and MEP information
* Attend internal design reviews and project coordination meetings
* Liaise with project managers, site teams, and external consultants
* Assist with specification of materials and finishes
* Assist with preparing and maintaining furniture schedules and FF&E documentation
* Contribute to programme deadlines and workload planning within the design team
* Support delivery of commercial workplace and office fit-out projects
Due to the nature of the role, you will ideally match the following:
* Currently working for a D&B Workplace / Commercial Interiors Contractor, or within an Architectural Form specifically within their workplace department focusing on CAT B Office Fit Out projects
* Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related discipline
* Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Technical ability
* Full UK driver’s licence
* Experience of AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite (Highly Desirable)
* Experience producing technical drawing packages for construction
