Responsibilities
* Undertake plan assessments, site inspections, and enforcement work across a wide range of projects, from small domestic schemes to large, complex commercial developments (subject to your registration class).
* Respond to and manage issues relating to dangerous structures, unauthorised works and demolition activities.
* Participate in the Council's out-of-hours emergency call-out service.
Qualifications
* Registered Building Control Surveyor with RBI Class 2 registration or pending registration with the Building Safety Regulator.
* Experience in Building Control with a strong understanding of Building Regulations, Approved Documents, allied legislation, and enforcement procedures.
* Experience dealing with dangerous structures and implementing enforcement action when required.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full, valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for business use, or ability to travel efficiently.
* Working towards Chartered Members, Member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or an equivalent professional body (e.g., RICS).
