Our client is seeking a Senior Lead NPI Engineer focused on advanced semiconductor valve technology for their global FACTS team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the high quality and technical integrity of products like STATCOM VSC. Work tasks
* Leading the design of control applications and developing new features in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
* Designing and managing simulation environments and test automation.
* Conducting research and development in the field of FACTS control architectures and system design.
* Engaging in technical negotiations with end customers and other stakeholders.
* Providing technical support for equipment sourcing and sales (tendering).
* Generating innovations (e.g., contributing to scientific publications and patents) and educating stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering.
* Advanced knowledge in semiconductor valve technology.
* Advanced knowledge in compensation systems and power electronics (IGBT, SiC, GaN).
* Good knowledge of power engineering and control theory.
* Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSSE, PSCAD, or RTDS.
* Experience in developing simulation environments and test automation.
* Fluent English (written and oral skills).
Meritorious qualifications
* Knowledge of power supplies, gate drivers, power electronics control hardware, and valve measurements.
* Understanding of architectural design principles and VSC Grid Connection.
* Experience in project and test management.
* Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), SW, CPU, FPGAs, and control electronics.
* Understanding of FACTS devices.
