Maples Children’s Home (Short Breaks) – Lead Residential Support Worker
Due to expansion within the service we are looking to recruit to add to our team. This is a full-time role (37 hours) at Grade G5 Point 12 – £27,254.00.
We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual to join in leading our team of highly dedicated residential support workers, who provide short break respite for children with SEND between the ages of 8-18. Working on a two-week fixed rota basis, you would work as part of our leadership structure.
Maples Children’s Home, based in the grounds of St Bernard’s School, is dedicated to providing care and support to children with varying levels of SEND. We endeavour to create a home from home environment that meets the varied needs of the children we support, to enable them to feel safe, to thrive, to enrich their lives and to develop and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Lead our team of residential support workers who provide short break respite for children with SEND aged 8-18.
* Manage and participate in two-week fixed rota shifts as part of the leadership structure.
* Support colleagues through effective supervision, offering equal challenge and support.
* Inspire, motivate, and clearly communicate with the team to maintain a high standard of care.
Qualifications and Attributes
* Experience in working with children with SEND.
* Able to inspire and motivate others; confident and enthusiastic in supporting colleagues.
* Able to lead effective supervisions with balanced challenge and support.
* Highly motivated and innovative; excellent communication skills.
* An awareness of the Children’s Home Regulations would be advantageous.
