Commercial Account Executive - £30,000 – £35,000 - Shrewsbury (Office based)
An exciting opportunity has become available for a commercially focused Account Executive to join a growing and well established insurance business. This is a varied role combining client management, new business development and technical insurance support. You’ll play a key part in driving revenue growth while delivering a high standard of service to a portfolio of commercial clients. The position offers a great balance of relationship management and sales, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term partnerships while identifying new opportunities.
Key responsibilities
* Develop new business opportunities and contribute to overall company growth
* Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, building strong and lasting relationships
* Identify client needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
* Negotiate with insurers to secure suitable terms and coverage
* Present recommendations clearly and confidently to clients
* Handle renewals, mid term adjustments and policy changes
* Support clients with claims queries and liaise with insurers where required
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date
* Monitor outstanding actions, including renewals and client communications
* Identify cross selling opportunities and generate referrals

The Candidate
* Experience in a commercial insurance role (account handling or account executive level)
* Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and client needs
* Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
* Commercially minded with the ability to identify and secure new business
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
* Good IT skills and experience using insurance systems
* Knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance requirements

* Maintain accurate and compliant client records at all times
* Handle client queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
