Key responsibilities
In this English teaching job, your responsibilities will include:
1. To teach GCSE English to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the College.
2. Compose lesson plans in order to successfully incorporate the full duration of each lesson.
3. Execute lessons efficiently using different styles of teaching depending on the content.
4. Engage students to ensure a lively classroom atmosphere.
5. Instruct students about the structure and content of the English language.
6. Teach students the spelling of words, and their meanings.
7. Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar and sentence construction.
8. Teach students the correct pronunciation of words.
9. Teach students to think critically when studying literature and poetry.
10. Teach students to analyse and question media reports, advertisements, and news reports.
Skills & experience
11. Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service.
12. A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential.
13. Bachelor's degree in English teaching
14. Up to date with latest teaching techniques and topics in English instruction
15. Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
16. Experience of delivering the subject.
