Role Overview
At Asda there is nothing more important than the health and wellbeing of our customers, and our priority is to always put them first by delivering high quality patient care. Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS we are committed to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of minor eye conditions. A typical day will involve screening patients, coaching and training the wider team, while helping to maintain standards in the department, and providing clinical and service support to teams on the store, region and home office.
The role requires you to be a fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC, who is a registered performer with your NHS area team or health board MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda, which will be funded and supported by us). You should be on track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD and be able to use your skills and passion for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience. You should be passionate about developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the department.
Key Responsibilities
* Screen patients and coach the wider team.
* Maintain and elevate department standards.
* Support clinical and service inquiries across store, regional and home office teams.
* Assist in the development of new patient services.
* Partner with the Optical Manager to combine clinical and operational excellence.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
* Registered performer with an NHS area team or health board MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months).
* On track to meet statutory CPD points.
* Strong clinical skills and passion for delivering a memorable customer experience.
* Passionate about developing new patient services and driving departmental culture.
