Job Description
Care Assistant – Flexible Hours
Hours: 16–40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time & Part-Time Available
Some people have a natural gift for caring.
If you’re one of them, this role could feel deeply meaningful.
We’re looking for kind, reliable Care Assistants to support people in their own homes — helping them feel safe, respected, and able to live life as independently as possible.
This is a role built on trust, compassion, and human connection. It’s about more than tasks — it’s about presence, patience, and making someone’s day a little brighter.
-----------------------------------
The Heart of the Role
As a Care Assistant, you’ll follow personalised care plans to provide practical, emotional, and social support tailored to each individual. Every client is different, and you’ll be encouraged to care for people as individuals — respecting their background, preferences, beliefs, and dignity at all times.
You’ll be part of a caring team, supporting not only clients but one another too.
-----------------------------------
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day work will be varied and rewarding, and may include:
Personal Care (delivered with dignity and respect):
* Helping clients get up, dressed, and ready for the day
* Supporting with washing, bathing, showering, and personal hygiene
* Assisting with medication where required
* Supporting with mobility, pressure care, and comfort
* Helping with continence care and specialist personal care needs.
Nutritional & Domestic Support:
* Preparing meals and drinks that suit individual tastes and needs
* Light household tasks to help maintain a comfortable home
* Laundry, bedding changes, washing up, and basic cleaning
* Supporting with grocery shopping
Social & Emotional Care:
* Offering companionship, conversation, and reassurance
* Helping clients stay connected with family, friends, and the community
* Supporting attendance at appointments, clubs, or day centres
Often, what matters most is simply being there — listening, understanding, and caring.
-----------------------------------
Flexible Hours That Fit Around You
We understand that life doesn’t follow a single pattern. That’s why hours are flexible and agreed around availability, with:
* Between 16 and 40 hours per week
* A variety of shifts depending on client needs
* Opportunities for both part-time and full-time work
-----------------------------------
Training, Growth & Support
You won’t be expected to know everything from day one.
You’ll receive:
* Role-specific training relevant to the care you’ll provide
* Ongoing guidance and support from coordinators and managers
* Opportunities to develop skills and grow in confidence
* The chance to support and mentor others as you gain experience
Some Care Assistants may also support quality checks, mentoring, and introductions for new team members, helping maintain high standards of care across the service.
-----------------------------------
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal if you are:
* Naturally caring, patient, and compassionate
* Comfortable building professional, trusting relationships
* Reliable, observant, and respectful
* Happy working independently while being part of a wider team
-----------------------------------
Making a Difference, Every Day
Sometimes you may be the only person a client sees that day. Your kindness, consistency, and care can make a profound difference to their wellbeing, confidence, and quality of life.
If this role feels like something you’ve been searching for — or if you know in your heart that you could bring comfort, reassurance, and dignity to others — we’d love for you to apply and take that first step.
