Job Title: Maintenance Rigger
Location: Seal Sands
Start: 17th January 2026
Duration: Until 1st December 2026
Purpose / Role
Deliver a high quality, consistent and competent rigging / lifting construction service in accordance with Project Company requirements, standards and procedures whilst conforming to UK Regulations and Standards. Support overall delivery of company goals and schedule. Ensure all rigging / lifting activities are completed safely, protecting personnel, fabric and environment.
Key Aims and Objectives
* Read, understand and implement all applicable Project / Company requirements, standards and procedures and ensure all rigging / lifting activities comply with National Regulations and Standards.
* Perform rigging / lifting duties as requested by the Project / Company, ensuring that all lifting equipment and accessories are used in accordance with the manufacturer’s operating instructions and recommendations.
Responsibilities
* Develop lifting plans to enable execution of rigging / lifting duties.
* Provide support to other trades / disciplines or join an integrated multi-discipline team.
* Undertake Risk Assessments to ensure rigging / lifting activities are completed safely and in a controlled manner.
* Identify and raise awareness of conflicting activities or unforeseen difficulties that could affect rigging / lifting operations.
* Raise the appropriate Permit to Works to complete work scope in a controlled and safe manner.
* Select appropriate lifting accessories and ensure they are correctly attached / detached between the load and lifting equipment.
* Use clear and unambiguous hand / radio signals to safely direct the actions of a crane manoeuvring loads of various weights and dimensions.
* Conduct routine checks on lifting equipment and accessories in accordance with the prescribed maintenance procedure and ensure they are in serviceable condition before and after use.
* Demonstrate experience in rigging & lifting operations on plant shutdowns.
* Communicate effectively and work with other team members and disciplines.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
* Show flexibility and ability to comply with company and client requirements.
* Work independently with confidence.
* Adapt to a multi‑cultural environment.
* Show a desire to learn and develop within the role.
Qualifications
Essential
* Appropriate documented evidence confirming the trade.
* CCNSG safety passport or equivalent.
* Level 3 Diploma in Moving Engineering Construction Loads or Engineering Construction Capital Plant or Steel Structures or Opito Assessment / Reassessment or equivalent.
* Wood mandatory training: Induction, Working at Height, Risk Awareness.
* Working at Heights level 2.
Desirable
* COSHH Awareness.
* Lifting Equipment Inspection.
* Rigging Loft Management.
