An excellent opportunity has arisen at a supportive partner school in Cambridge for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant position starting in January or February 2026. SEND Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs & SEMH) – Job Summary As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. You will support pupils both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis within the classroom. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of tailored learning activities. Adapting your approach to meet the unique needs of individual pupils. Monitoring and encouraging progress in both academic and personal development. Building valuable experience working directly with pupils with complex needs and behavioural challenges. This role is well suited to aspiring SEN Teachers, Educational Psychologists or Clinical Psychologists. SEND Teaching Assistant (Complex Needs & SEMH) – Job Requirements A minimum of a 2:1 degree from a UK university. Prior experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN or SEMH needs, is desirable. A strong commitment to pupil welfare and development.
