7-Month Contract with a Local Authority Summary The Locum Social Worker will join the Adolescent Safeguarding Service, a specialized multi-agency team dedicated to supporting teenagers facing complex challenges such as exploitation, trauma, and disrupted relationships. The role involves delivering high-quality statutory social work interventions, managing safeguarding concerns, and employing trauma-informed, relationship-based practices to enhance outcomes for vulnerable youth. The postholder will also engage in multi-agency risk management, ensure legislative compliance, and contribute to service excellence. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of adolescents at risk of exploitation, harm, or trauma. Lead and coordinate multi-agency safeguarding plans to protect young people. Utilize trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches to foster trust and engagement. Perform direct work with young people and their families to mitigate risks and promote stability. Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and evidence as needed. Attend and participate in court proceedings, providing clear, professional testimony. Ensure all court work meets statutory expectations and reflects best practices. Essential Experience Strong post-qualifying experience in statutory social work with children and families. Proven experience in safeguarding adolescents, including exploitation and contextual risks. Significant background in court work: preparing statements, giving evidence, and managing legal processes. Essential Qualifications Social Work degree or equivalent (CQSW, DipSW, BA/MA Social Work). Social Work England registration. Evidence of continued professional development.
