Temporary Head Chef Responsibilities – Kitchen Management & Quality Food Delivery
* Lead and motivate the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals to the centre's wide range of guests, from gym-goers to families
* Oversee menu production, prep, and service – ensuring variety and consistency at all times
* Maintain strong kitchen hygiene and uphold all food safety practices in line with current regulations
* Order kitchen stock as needed and keep tight control of waste and costings
* Train, guide, and supervise junior kitchen staff as required
* Adapt menus for dietary requirements and regularly review customer feedback to improve the food offering
* Work closely with the management and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth day-to-day running
What We're Looking For – Skills and Qualities For Chef Positions in Oxford
* Previous experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous, or strong Sous Chef in a busy, high-volume kitchen
* Comfortable working in leisure, contract catering, or multi-outlet environments
* Strong leadership, team motivation, and communication skills
* Passion for delivering fresh, tasty, and nutritious food to a broad customer base
* Organized, reliable, and able to thrive under pressure
* Food hygiene and allergen management qualifications (level2 or above preferred)
* A flexible approach – able to hit the ground running and adapt to changing needs
