Duties of a Manual Lathe Machinist:
9. Operating manual lathes to manufacture and repair precision components
10. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and CAD models
11. Setting and adjusting machines to required specifications
12. Machining components in a range of metal and plastic materials
13. Carrying out milling, grinding and assembly duties where required
14. Working to tight tolerances and quality standards
15. Using measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers
16. Supporting the repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes and related industrial equipment components
17. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
18. Supporting production deadlines and workshop efficiency
What we would like from you:
19. Previous experience operating manual lathes
20. Strong understanding of machining principles and workshop practices
21. Experience with milling, grinding or general mechanical assembly
22. Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
23. Experience machining metal and plastic materials desirable
24. Good knowledge of measuring equipment and tolerances
25. Mechanical aptitude with tooling, fixtures and machine setup
26. Reliable with strong attention to detail
27. Ability to work independently or as part of a team
