Job Purpose
The mission of the Senior Welding Engineer is to support the Project and Tenders, under the Core Technologies Group, in technical matters related to Metallurgy, Welding & NDT of Linepipe, Structures, Forgings, and Pipeline fabrication. The role involves ensuring the selection of cost-effective solutions in full compliance with international standards, CLIENT requirements, and TechnipFMC guidance and procedures.
Job Description
* Maintain awareness of main international standards and GROUP’s guidance and procedures, ensuring proposed solutions are fully compliant.
* Create and maintain links between Core Technologies and other departments within TechnipFMC, seeking advice and input during proposals/projects.
* Mentor and develop Jr Engineers in Welding & NDT activities.
* Generate ideas and templates to improve team efficiency and interfaces.
* Review peers' work when required.
* Identify risks and opportunities for proposed solutions.
* Consolidate local experience in the discipline (project reports, R&D proposals).
* Promote TechnipFMC’s engineering excellence through publications and industry engagement.
* Exchange experiences and lessons learned within the team locally and globally.
* Build a network within the industry and stay updated on latest developments.
* Stay informed about updates to standards and CLIENT specifications.
* Prepare and issue project-specific documentation to CLIENT and review as needed.
* Provide onsite fabrication support during PQT, coordinating with suppliers and managing CLIENT/SUPPLIER interfaces.
* Issue NCRs and follow up until closure.
* Support and coordinate with the project QA/QC team during manufacturing and tests.
* Review TPFMC GROUP guidance and procedures.
You are meant for this job if:
Area of Education: Welding, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
Experience with submerged pipeline projects, including reel lay projects.
Good understanding of subsea engineering.
Deep knowledge of pipeline and subsea projects, welding techniques, WPQT (V and J bevel mechanized equipment, p-GMAW, p-GTAW, g-FCAW, WOL, etc.), DNV-ST-F101 requirements, including technology selection and application.
Previous experience as the technical responsible or focal point for discipline in complex or large projects with different operators.
