Accounts Assistant (Temporary Cover, 1-3 Months) Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 (pro rata) Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (1‑hour lunch) Location: Fully Office-Based - Speke Contract Type: Temporary (1-3 Months) Experience Required: Must be experienced in finance operations, bank reconciliations, and purchase ledger. Main Purpose of the Role To provide accurate and timely financial information to support the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, ensuring the finance function operates efficiently and to company standards. Key Responsibilities Complete daily bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy. Provide and process financial data to support the Accountant in meeting reporting targets and strict deadlines. Ensure that all finance systems, records, and files are set up, updated, and maintained accurately. Carry out credit control activities, including managing outstanding balances and resolving queries. Raise all relevant internal paperwork - including cheque requisitions and bank reconciliation documentation - ensuring full accuracy and compliance. Maintain safe working practices and adhere to all dealership policies, processes, and operational standards. Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring all customer contact is handled professionally and efficiently. Manage and resolve all finance‑related queries promptly. Perform purchase ledger administration, including invoice processing, statement reconciliation, and system updates. Candidate Requirements Proven experience in a similar finance role (bank reconciliations, purchase ledger, credit control). Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work to deadlines in a busy office environment. Confident communicator with a professional and proactive approach. Immediately available or available at short notice for temporary cover.
