Job Overview:
Arm is looking for a Performance Engineer to help optimise compute, storage, and workflow performance across our engineering platform. You’ll focus on identifying inefficiencies, diagnosing bottlenecks, and supporting improvements across large-scale compute clusters and cloud environments.
This role is part of our broader effort to improve infrastructure efficiency and support the evolving demands of high-throughput workloads, including verification and implementation workloads.
You’ll work closely with architects, infrastructure teams, and flow owners to analyze real-world usage and help ensure our systems are tuned for performance and scale.
Responsibilities:
* Analyse performance of compute and storage infrastructure in production
* Identify areas for tuning based on metrics and system behavior
* Support improvements to job configurations and scheduling efficiency
* Help develop tooling and dashboards to surface performance trends
* Collaborate with platform and flow teams to validate and document findings
Required skills and experience:
* Experience working in Linux-based environments, particularly in performance-sensitive contexts
* General experience working in compute or storage-heavy environments
* Exposure to basic job scheduling systems (e.g., LSF, Jenkins, SLURM)
* Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Linux-based telemetry
* Familiarity with profiling tools
* Ability to troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, I/O, or network performance
* Methodical, data-informed approach to diagnosing and testing changes
'Nice to have' skills and experience:
* Knowledge of how engineering teams use simulation tools or other high-throughput workloads
* Experience with EDA tooling and workflow patterns
* Experience with EDA workflows or engineering compute pipelines
