We are working with a well-established Educational Training Provider who are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable AAT Levels 3 & 4 Accountancy Trainer to join their growing team in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about finance and eager to guide learners through their AAT qualifications.
You don’t need prior teaching experience – what matters most is your accountancy expertise, communication skills, and the motivation to make a difference. Full training and support towards teaching qualifications will be provided.
The Role – AAT Accountancy Trainer
As an AAT Levels 3 & 4 Trainer, you will:
1. Deliver engaging classroom and online lessons across AAT Levels 3 & 4 (and occasionally Level 2).
2. Support learners throughout their qualification journey, providing feedback, guidance, and encouragement.
3. Mark and assess learners’ work, ensuring they meet AAT standards.
4. Help learners overcome challenges and build confidence in their abilities.
5. Plan and organise your teaching diary, ensuring lessons are delivered on time and to a high standard.
6. Keep your professional knowledge up to date through continuous CPD.
7. Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, embedding safeguarding and equality practices.
What We’re Looking For – AAT Accountancy Trainer
Essential Skills & Experience:
8. Minimum AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent).
9. Strong knowledge of accountancy principles and practices.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to motivate and inspire learners from different backgrounds.
12. Good organisational and time management skills.
13. Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office, online learning platforms).
Desirable (but not essential):
14. Previous teaching, coaching, or training experience.
15. Experience in apprenticeships, education, or professional training.
16. A teaching or assessing qualification (support available if not held).
17. Experience using OneFile or similar e-portfolio systems (training provided).
18. A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport.
