Role Overview: To ensure that specified incoming materials, components, and products meet the required specifications and quality standards before being accepted into the logistics storage and manufacturing processes. Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on: Timely inspection of raw materials, mechanical components, and sub-assemblies upon arrival. Verify conformity to purchase orders, technical drawings, and specifications. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate Inspection equipment (e.g. vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, Faro arm, NDT equipment). Ensure material compliance with material standards / internal quality standards and external regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements). Identify and report non-conforming goods through formal PLM NCR processes. Review, upload / approve EN10204 material certificates into PLM. Maintain accurate inspection records. Ensure traceability of inspected items through batch numbers, certificates of conformity, and delivery documentation. Support internal and external audits with relevant inspection data. Communicate with suppliers regarding quality issues and corrective actions. Provide feedback to improve supplier performance and incoming quality. Timely approval of goods for storage and/or production use in support of customer service. To be successful in this role you will have: - Experience of working in a manufacturing/ engineering environment in Quality Inspection or a closely related role. - Experience of working within a recognised quality system and working in accordance with procedures. - Knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings - Basic knowledge of Metrology equipment. - Following training understanding of essential requirements of materials and material certification. - Keen attention to detail to maintain high levels of quality - Proactive and flexible approach - Ability to work as part of a team and independently as required The Steam Thermal Solutions business is one of three businesses within Spirax Group.
