This is a field based role – head office based in Rochford but works in Essex, Kent and London.
Salary: £40 to 55k per annum

Job Purpose:
The Surveyor will carry out surveys, inspections, and condition assessments across a variety of properties, including residential, commercial, new, and older buildings. The surveyor will conduct on-site measurements, surveys, and pricing for planned and reactive maintenance works
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct surveys and inspections to assess maintenance, refurbishment, or repair requirements.
* Carry out pre- and post-works inspections to ensure work is completed to a high standard that meets client or customer needs.
* Conduct stock condition inspections to assess properties, identify defects or required improvements, and ensure these are programmed effectively.
* Prepare accurate estimates, budgets, and schedules for works, ensuring value for money and efficient resource allocation.
* Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and fully comply with statutory requirements, health and safety regulations, and recognised industry best practice.
* Identify and mitigate potential risks, including asbestos and other health and safety hazards.
* Produce detailed survey reports, including specifications, measurements, recommendations, and costings.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, surveys, and works.
* Support continuous improvement of processes to maintain high standards of service delivery and compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in surveying, maintenance, or a similar property role.
* Knowledge of multi-trade maintenance work, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, gas, and joinery.
* Awareness of health and safety risks, including asbestos.
* Experience preparing estimates, budgets, and schedules for works.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff, clients, and contractors.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and property/asset management systems.
* Ability to manage multiple surveys, inspections, and projects efficiently.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
* A minimum further education qualification (HNC / HND / Degree) and/or a relevant construction, maintenance, or building-related professional qualification.
* Experience working in the social housing sector is desirable but not essential.
* Relevant health and safety training, along with a CSCS card or equivalent qualification, is preferred.
