The role As a Transport Manager, you'll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. A dynamic role focused on managing and streamlining domestic supply chain operations to effectively support all Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) functions. Day-to-day, you’ll ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials and equipment, working closely with the Supply Chain team and the designated transport company to maintain operational readiness and support equipment repairs. You'll also: Oversee transport operations, ensuring processes and controls for material receipt, storage, and issue are efficient and effective. Coordinate transport schedules in line with planned and emergent demand, aligning with MRO requirements. Coordinate with the designated transport company to ensure seamless and efficient transport operations. Report on transport and supply chain metrics and progress on a weekly and monthly basis. Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence. This role is full time fixed term contract, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Andover or Donnington. Essential experience of the Transport Manager: Military/defence sector experience Experience of transport management Strong communication skills with the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and operational functions Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment Qualifications for the Transport Manager: We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.
