The Package Engineer Role - Concrete
As a Package Engineer, you will report directly to the Project Manager and take charge of managing trade-contractor packages within our infrastructure and substructure team. You will lead a dedicated team of engineers and subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered to the highest standards of safety and performance.
Your Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of your package, ensuring all works are planned, safe, and that the site is clean and organized.
* Promote a culture of safety leadership with a 'boots on the ground' mentality.
* Plan and oversee all logistical requirements, collaborating with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
* Produce short-term programmes and phase plans to accelerate works and mitigate issues.
* Monitor progress and performance, reporting on metrics and trends to the Project Manager.
* Collaborate with the infrastructure team, keeping the 'big picture' in mind.
* Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
* Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans.
* Conduct quality inspections using FieldView.
* Manage technical submittals and requests for information.
* Record key events and activities, promoting the SRM Build Sure culture.
Your Profile:
* Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in multi-million-pound building projects.
* Experience managing structural steelwork and façade packages for high-profile projects.
* Ability to lead weekly progress meetings and implement corrective actions.
* Expertise in procurement and supplier negotiations.
* Collaboration with design and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
* Familiarity with NEC contracts and managing Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
* Good knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant regulations.
* Experience with construction software packages such as FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta is desirable.
