What you’ll be doing…
1. Working to deliver the planned sales and profitability of your department through effective planning and in-season trading
2. Regularly analysing department performance to maximise commercial opportunities
3. Working alongside your Buyer to ensure a commercial range is offered to the customer whilst ensuring both ASOS’ and the Department strategy are adhered to, taking into account OTB, Options, price, ALB and global requirements
4. Through strategic planning and trading of the department, managing the intake and OTB to deliver the stock requirements of the business
5. Developing and building strong relationships with suppliers
6. Providing an appropriate level of data analysis and insights that can be shared with relevant teams to aid decision making and gain buy in for ideas
7. Regularly meeting suppliers and brands for the department to ensure that key messages and movements in forecast are communicated clearly.
8. Working collaboratively with supply base to innovate solutions and processes within production planning and critical path management
9. Constantly seeking opportunities to maximise both intake and profit margin against plan
10. Developing short term and long term department strategies with the Buyer to maximise department profit.
11. Driving, adapting and adjusting department strategy in season based on trade performance
12. Resolving issues that may arise and working collaboratively with Buying and other relevant teams to come up with effective solutions
13. Reviews KPIs regularly to ensure that the BTA is realistic, highlighting changes to team and management.
14. Demonstrating a global mindset, discussing and sharing opportunities and risks with other depts to influence global strategy and drive divisional performance
15. Seeking opportunities to improve ways of working and systems use to trade more effectively globally, sharing knowledge with the team
16. Managing and developing a high-performing team of AMs and MAs through regular 1:1s, honest and constructive feedback. Providing an environment which encourages all team members to provide ideas and suggestions.
Qualifications

17. Has a proven track record in Merchandising within a fast-paced and rapidly changing global Retailer
18. Demonstrates the ability to drive the success of a department through creative and commercial thinking
19. Demonstrates the ability to gain buy in from the team and management to potentialize opportunities
20. Embraces and champions the benefits of change within the wider team
21. Can confidently present the department performance and strategy to the team and management
22. Shows a great understanding of the ASOS customer and customer segmentation and reflects this in decision making
23. Demonstrates a commercial and analytical mindset, using data and insights to leverage opportunities that successfully contribute to the department and wider ASOS strategy
24. Uses relevant market insights to aid decision making and achieve the best outcome for the business
25. Shows strong awareness of current trends, Retail market conditions and opportunities within a Global context
26. Builds great relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
27. Has an effective and inclusive management style, role modelling positive behaviours and providing the team with clear direction and development
28. Has strong systems skills, including advanced Excel and relevant trading systems.
