Principal Accountant needed in Burton Upon Trent, £28.25ph PAYE - 5275189 To lead the in-year revenue budget monitoring and reporting process in line with the established guidelines. To provide financial advice, guidance and innovative financial solutions in order that informed and timely decisions can be made by officers and members. To lead the preparation of the Statement of Accounts in accordance with the relevant standards and codes of practice and to ensure the integrity of the Client’s Balance Sheet. To maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of financial codes of practice and regulations and to provide advice and guidance on their application and interpretation. Under guidelines established by the Chief Accountant, be responsible for the overall detailed preparation of the Medium Term Financial Strategy. To identify and lead on projects or initiatives in order to contribute to the continuous improvement and efficiency of the team. To ensure the accurate completion of various statutory and non-statutory returns in a timely manner. To provide financial advice and analysis in respect of any grant or discretionary funding applications received by the Client. Supervision, management and development of staff within Financial Management, as designated by the Chief Accountant. The provision of training, guidance and development to managers and team leaders in relation to their responsibilities as budget managers.
