We have a great opportunity at UHDB for an experienced leader to join our team in Imaging as a Deputy General Manager.
The post holder will support and deputise for the General Manager in the day‑to‑day operational and performance management of the Imaging business unit, set and deliver the strategic direction, and contribute to achieving the financial forecast and delivery of contracted activity. This includes interpreting and implementing local policy/strategy and driving service development.
The UHDB Imaging department is Quality Mark accredited.
Our main sites are Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Queens Hospital Burton (QHB). The department also provides imaging services at the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (FNCH) and other community hospitals in Ilkeston, Ripley, Long Eaton, Ashbourne, Tamworth and Lichfield, all offering plain film and ultrasound provision. UHDB recently received a large investment for the community Diagnostic Centre project.
Responsibilities
* Support the General Manager in achieving outcomes of the Trust’s performance management framework and be accountable for performance against all key measures, including national clinical quality indicators.
* Manage and support the business unit’s staff and equipment to provide a multimodality imaging service across acute, community and diagnostic sites.

* Breast Unit services including screening
* Nuclear medicine
* Obstetric and non‑obstetric ultrasound
* CT and MRI
* Projection radiography, including theatre and mobile radiography
* Interventional services, including vascular, non‑vascular and fluoroscopy
* Support in setting and delivering the strategic direction for the business unit.
* Develop and implement local delivery plans that meet service needs and align with the Trust’s annual planning process and corporate objectives.
* Plan and manage projects to modernise services.
* Ensure effective communication systems across the portfolio and with other service areas to support safe and effective patient care.
