Principal Planner (Gr J)*

Responsibilities
* Lead the preparation and presentation of comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and land use regulations.
* Conduct detailed analyses of planning issues and trends to inform strategic decision-making.
* Manage multiple planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.
* Facilitate community engagement initiatives to gather public input and support for planning initiatives.
* Coordinate with external stakeholders, including developers, government agencies, and community organizations, to encourage collaboration on planning projects.
* Review and assess development applications, ensuring compliance with regulations and community goals.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners and staff, fostering professional development and teamwork.
Requirements
* Master's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
* A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in urban or regional planning.
* Strong knowledge of zoning laws, land use planning, and environmental regulations.
* Proficiency in GIS software and other planning tools and technologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
* Demonstrated ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects effectively.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Pay Per Hour: £38.09
