The post holder will join six consultant neonatologists as the rota moves to 1 in 7. The neonatal unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital (UHD) is part of the TV & Wessex Neonatal ODN and is designated as a Local Neonatal Unit (LNU) and caters to a population of approximately 775,000 people across Dorset and provides neonatal service to about 4,000 deliveries per year. There will be a planned contract of 10 programmed activities.
This hospital currently has a 2-tier rota with ANNPs and clinical fellows in tier 1 and consultants in tier 2.
Applicants with a special interest in cardiology, POCUS and family integrated care/safeguarding are especially welcomed.

Responsibilities
* Provide one neonatal service week in 7.
* Provide 2-3 neonatal clinics per month, and departmental meetings.
* Participate in the neonatal on-call rota: currently 1 in 6 moving to 1 in 7.
* Provide SpR, medical student and ANNP training and teaching including NLS courses.
* Support maternity and neonatal assurance meetings (incl. LMNS).
* Support NCEPOD and HSIB investigations.
