We’re looking for a motivated early-career Electronics Engineer, to join an innovative hardware team developing next-generation sensing and instrumentation technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience designing, building and testing cutting‑edge electronic systems in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external partners, contributing across the full product development lifecycle – from concept and prototyping through to testing, integration and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build and test electronic components and prototype systems
* Integrate electronic and mechanical solutions into advanced sensing platforms
* Support lab automation projects through hardware implementation
* Optimise circuit layouts, grounding, shielding and noise reduction techniques
* Apply signal processing methods to improve system performance
* Carry out circuit simulation and modelling using tools such as SPICE
* Debug and characterise analogue/digital electronics including amplifiers, ADCs, DACs and power systems
* Produce technical documentation, specifications and test reports
* Maintain and upgrade prototype instruments and hardware stock
* Collaborate with PCB design, fabrication and external engineering partners
* Keep up to date with emerging technologies in electronics and sensors
About You
* Degree qualified in Electronics / Electrical Engineering (BEng, MEng or similar)
* Strong understanding of analogue electronics, instrumentation or low‑noise design
* Experience with PCB design tools and PCB development
* Hands‑on lab experience using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, power supplies etc.
* Programming ability in C, C++ or Python for automation/testing
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

* Soldering and PCB assembly
* Medical devices, sensors or scientific instrumentation
