Are you an environmental specialist / scientist with experience in shaping bids, tenders, and biodiversity projects? Interested in shaping the future of nature-based consultancy? We’re working with an innovative consultancy delivering data-led environmental projects across the UK and internationally – and they’re looking for a passionate Ecologist to join their team.
The Opportunity:
This is a unique role for someone who thrives at the intersection of ecology, sustainability, and project delivery. You’ll lead strategic nature and biodiversity projects, from early design through to delivery, helping clients meet regulatory goals while supporting ecological outcomes on the ground. The role is varied, collaborative, and ideal for someone with a consultancy background seeking real-world impact.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and deliver a range of high-impact biodiversity and environmental advisory projects
Develop practical frameworks and field survey designs to support monitoring and compliance
Guide multidisciplinary teams and external partners through all phases of project lifecycles
Produce robust technical reports, stakeholder updates, and strategic insights
Shape new business opportunities through client engagement and proposal development
Keep abreast of evolving environmental policy and regulatory frameworks (UK & global)
Support internal project performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience within ecological consultancy or environmental advisory
Track record in project delivery across biodiversity, natural capital, or ecological impact areas
Strong working knowledge of national/international regulatory and voluntary biodiversity frameworks (e.g. biodiversity net gain, PS6, TNFD, etc.)
Excellent communicator with experience producing high-quality written deliverables
Ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, including private sector, NGOs, and research bodies
Familiarity with digital tools, geospatial data, or biodiversity monitoring tech is an advantage
Relevant academic background in ecology, environmental science, or a related field
