Site Executive Chef
Location: RAF Cosford, WV7 3EX
Salary: £38,191 per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week
Working Pattern: Mainly Monday–Friday (occasional weekends / late finishes)

ESS are recruiting a Site Executive Chef to lead catering operations at RAF Cosford, a large, fully operational military site serving 800–1,000 meals daily across multiple kitchens.
Most ESS Military sites operate on single shifts – no split shifts and no regular late nights.
Service Times
1. Breakfast: 06:00 – 08:00
2. Lunch: 11:30 – 13:30
3. Evening Meal: 16:30 – 20:00
The Role
4. Hands-on leadership across multiple kitchens
5. Menu planning aligned to ESS frameworks and customer needs
6. Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation
7. Lead, develop, and inspire a team of around 15
8. Deliver functions and events as required
9. Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and allergen management
10. Drive GP, labour, and food cost targets
11. Use catering systems effectively – computer literacy essential
12. Support apprenticeships, career pathways, and the Junior Chef Academy
13. Flexible approach to meet operational needs
About You
14. Proven experience in a similar high-volume, multi-kitchen role (essential)
15. Strong leadership and people development skills
16. Passion for food and developing future talent
17. Calm, organised, and adaptable
18. Confident with systems, stock control, and reporting
19. Strong understanding of food costing, margins, and budgeting
