Greenmeadow Community Farm is preparing to open its gates inAugust 2025, and we’re looking for4–5 enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly General Assistantsto support our busy, multi-outletcatering operation.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting service in a variety of outlets including theCafé Restaurant,Playbarn Café,Barista Coffee Bar, andevent spaces
* Assisting withfood preparation, basic cooking tasks, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
* Providingfriendly, efficient customer serviceat counters, tills, and during events
* Helping withstock rotation, restocking, and general organisation
* Ensuring all areas are kept clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors
* Working as part of a team to deliver a smooth, enjoyable experience for all guests

Job Description
Key Responsibilities – General Assistant
As aGeneral Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a smooth, welcoming, and high-quality experience for all visitors. Your responsibilities will span both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes tasks, supporting the day-to-day operations across the venue.
* Greet and assist visitors with a friendly, professional attitude.
* Serve food and beverages efficiently and accurately, ensuring excellent presentation.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and inviting customer area, including tables, counters, and service points.
* Provide helpful information about the menu, venue, and events.
* Assist with basic food preparation and plating under the guidance of the kitchen team.
* Support dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and general kitchen hygiene.
* Help with setting up and clearing down service areas before and after shifts.
* Monitor and restock supplies in both front and back-of-house areas.
* Rotate stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
* Assist with deliveries, unpacking, and proper storage of goods.
* Follow daily cleaning routines and hygiene protocols across all areas.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards and allergen awareness procedures.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in customer and staff areas.
* Work closely with kitchen, café, and event teams to ensure smooth service.
* Support colleagues during busy periods and special events.
* Communicate effectively to help resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
* Assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of seasonal events and promotions.
* Adapt to changing roles and responsibilities based on operational needs.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For – General Assistant
We’re looking for a proactive and versatile General Assistant who enjoys working in a dynamic hospitality environment. You’ll support both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, helping to deliver a smooth, welcoming, and high-quality experience for all visitors.
* Previous experience in ahospitality, café, or catering environmentis preferred.
* Comfortable working acrosscustomer service,food preparation, andcleaning duties.
* Confident in handling basic food and drink service, including using tills and serving customers.
* Acan-do attitudewith the ability to adapt to different tasks and areas as needed.
* Willing to take initiative in keeping service areas clean, stocked, and running smoothly.
* Creative and enthusiastic about contributing toseasonal displays,event setups, orpromotional activities.
* Experience withstock rotation, restocking, and minimising waste.
* Highlyorganised, detail-oriented, and able to stay calm and efficient during busy periods.
* Ateam playerwith strong communication skills and a positive, solution-focused approach.
* Passionate about deliveringgreat customer serviceand supporting colleagues across departments.
* Willingness to work flexibly, includingweekends and eveningsas required.
