An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated temporary Operations Lead to join our experienced and friendly team at Rowner Medical Centre. The successful candidate must have sound knowledge of a primary care environment, management, leadership, EMIS Web, Docman and HR.
Main duties
Supporting the Practice Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Practice. To be involved in the development of non-clinical Practice staff, report defects within the building, liaise with outside agencies and organise Locum cover when required, to be responsible for the maintenance of the practice\'s clinical and other computer systems and ensure delivery of high standards of data quality.

OPERATIONS LEAD. Responsible to: Practice Manager
Supporting the Practice Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Human Resources - Organising and placing advertisements for recruitment. Distribution and collation of application forms and arranging interviews. Generate reply letters to all applicants.
* Support annual performance appraisals for Admin Team and follow up matters arising from the appraisals. Perform 8 weekly 1-to-1s with Admin staff and 3 and 6 month reviews for new employees.
* Look after the welfare of all admin staff.
* Manage the computerised appointment system, ensuring all appointment screens for clinicians are entered onto the system at least one month in advance. Manage the diary for clinicians\' holidays, meetings, etc., and incorporate into appointment schedules.
* Be the first line of contact for patient complaints and act per the Practice\'s complaints procedure with support from the Practice Manager where appropriate.
* Manage room bookings diary; organise Locum cover for Doctors, nurses or administration teams.
* Manage ordering of stationery and supplies and ensure stock control. Arrange for contractors to carry out urgent/routine repairs. Ensure regular checks on the fire alarm system.
* Assist with EMIS system tasks as required (add new patients, deduction of patients). Ensure return of notes for patients who have left the practice. Manage recording of patient attendances and audits, including DNAs.
* Contact Healthcare Computing with any computer issues. Oversee security and validation processes for the Clinical System.
* Provide support, advice and training for current and new practice staff in the use of the clinical system. Provide first-line IT support (Windows configuration, EMIS, scanner & printer configuration, consumables stocking and installation).

* Personal/Professional development: participate in training, annual performance review, maintain records of development, demonstrate skills to others.

* Communication: communicate effectively with team members, patients and carers; accommodate alternative communication methods; participate in audits as appropriate.
Qualifications
Essential
* Previous experience working within a Primary care setting as Operations Lead or equivalent
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
Desirable
* HR experience
