PURPOSE OF THE POST: The Lead Trainer supports the effective delivery of training programmes at a site level, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and compliance requirements. Acting as a key support to the Factory Training Manager, this role involves assisting in the coordination of training activities, supporting factory trainers, and deputising for the Factory Training Manager in their absence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training Coordination and Delivery Deliver high-quality training sessions, including mandatory programmes such as HACCP, Food Hygiene, and role-specific certifications.
Assist in planning and organising site-level training schedules to meet compliance deadlines.
Support the delivery and maintenance of induction programmes for new employees.
Support for Factory Trainers
Act as a mentor and resource for factory trainers, providing guidance, support, and assistance in the delivery of their training responsibilities.
Facilitate sharing of best practices and promote consistency across training methods and materials.
Documentation and Compliance Ensure training records and matrices are maintained and updated accurately.
Monitor training completion rates and highlight gaps to the Factory Training Manager.
Support the Factory Training Manager in maintaining compliance with regulatory and customer standards, including BRC requirements.
Deputising Responsibilities Assume responsibilities of the Factory Training Manager in their absence, ensuring continuity in training activities and compliance monitoring.
Liaise with site managers and technical teams as needed to address training requirements and issues.
Continuous Improvement Contribute to the enhancement of training materials and methods to improve engagement and effectiveness.
Provide feedback and suggestions to the Factory Training Manager for ongoing improvements to training strategies and programmes.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Qualifications and Experience Experience in a training role within a manufacturing or food production environment.
Relevant training qualifications or willingness to work towards one.
Skills Excellent presentation and training delivery skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in food manufacturing.
Attributes Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
Adaptability to shifting priorities and responsibilities.
Attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate records.
