English Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for English Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Wellingborough and the surrounding areas, delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons across a range of year groups as part of a Class Act supply role.
Duties as English Teacher:
* Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons using provided plans
* Teach key curriculum areas including English language, literature, reading, and writing
* Support pupils in developing communication, comprehension, and critical-thinking skills
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
* Assess and record pupil progress where required
* Contribute to departmental collaboration during longer-term placements
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment
Ideal English Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Strong subject knowledge in English language and literature
* Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to inspire and engage pupils across KS3 and KS4
* Adaptable across different schools and teaching environments
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic about English teaching
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
All candidates must undergo safeguarding checks in line with the Department for Education’s statutory guidance “Keeping Children Safe in Education,” including reference checks and an Enhanced DBS check either registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
