Key Responsibilities


* Responsible for the delivery of our 'learning through play’ educational ethos and the N Curriculum; you will successfully lead learning experiences across all curriculum areas, planning innovative ideas based on children’s age and stage of development, needs and interests.
* Consistently demonstrate high quality teaching, using the N inspired teaching strategies
* Work closely with the Deputy manager/s, Nursery Manager and Education Advisor to develop education within the nursery and carry out actions related to teaching practice that are identified in the nursery’s Self Evaluation Form.
* Have a strong knowledge and understanding of the Ofsted grade descriptors, being able to demonstrate what outstanding practice looks like.
* Have a strong understanding of pedagogy and act as a pedagogical leader in your room- inspiring, motivating and guiding your team to develop their practice.
* You will sensitively implement the pattern of the day routine;
* Plan innovative learning experiences that constantly challenge children's learning and development;
* Engage in high-quality observations, assessments and planning for the children within your care;
* Complete individual support plans (in conjunction with the SENCO) for any children requiring specialist support, including leading interventions as needed.
* Ensure that key transition periods within the room such as sleep times, mealtimes and outings occur smoothly;
* Meal time supervision and adhering to all of N’s mealtime policies to ensure we are keeping our children safe when served and eating food;
* Adhere to all policies and procedures;
* Build and maintain excellent relationships with parents;
* Promote and role-model safeguarding procedures and the importance of child welfare
* Ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the day;
* Ensure that daily H&S-related tasks and checks happen promptly & thoroughly with any concerns followed up;
* Ensure all policies, procedures and practices are embedded within the practice;
* Be committed to continual reflective practice;
* Be accountable and implement behavioural safety within the nursery;
* Work a flexible work pattern within the nursery opening hours (7.00 am-7.00 pm) with the flexibility to attend out of hours meetings and events as required;
* Be a role model for exceptionally high standards, never cutting corners, thriving on feedback and leading on educational excellence.
* Responsible for always adhering to the company's H&S policy: “Statement of Intent"
* Support nursery operations with ad-hoc tasks to ensure the smooth running of the nursery
