Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Medical Secretary to provide a valuable support service to Cardiology Secretaries at The Princess Royal Hospital. The post is Band 3 and the successful candidate will be working 37.5 hours per week.
The post holder will produce accurate clinical and general correspondence, regularly using complex and sensitive medical terminology from audio transcription. You will also be required to respond to telephone calls from anxious and distressed patients, responding appropriately to contentious, sensitive and difficult enquiries. The successful applicant will gain valuable experience within a busy Medical Secretaries office and will provide an excellent opportunity for development and progression for a motivated candidate.
You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, and reliability and have an organised approach to work. Working alongside other Medical Secretaries, the post would provide an excellent opportunity for development and progression for a motivated candidate.
Responsibilities
* Produce accurate clinical and general correspondence, regularly using complex and sensitive medical terminology from audio transcription.
* Respond to telephone calls from anxious and distressed patients, addressing contentious, sensitive and difficult enquiries appropriately.
* Work within a busy Medical Secretaries office and collaborate with other Medical Secretaries.
Qualifications
* RSA Level 3 or equivalent.
* Excellent audio typing skills.
* Educated to GSCE level or equivalent.
* Experience within a medical environment is desirable but not essential.
There may be a typing test at the time of interview.
