Your new role
We are looking for an experienced and self-sufficient Payroll Clerk to join our team in Bristol on a temporary basis. This role is available on a full-time and part-time basis. This is a standalone role, meaning you will be fully responsible for the payroll function with no internal support available for payroll-related tasks. You must be confident in managing all aspects of payroll independently, including handling queries, resolving issues, using payroll systems, and ensuring compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Full ownership of payroll administration in the absence of the Payroll Administrator.
2. Manage loans, advances, adjustments, pay reviews, and bonus processes.
3. Own and maintain the Time & Attendance (T&A) system, including training managers and analysing usage trends.
4. Prepare and consolidate payroll data for submission to our outsourced payroll provider.
5. Conduct spot checks on new starters, leavers, and payroll changes.
6. Produce monthly payroll journals and attachment deduction payment schedules.
7. Ensure compliance with legal and company payroll requirements.
8. Provide payroll insights and data to Senior Management for decision-making.
9. Support with reporting requirements including gender pay gap, P11Ds and death in service data.
