We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced band 6 midwife to join NHS Fife.
NHS Fife maternity is a modern, thriving and progressive unit with approximately 3000 births per year. The services include outpatient and community services, and multi‑faced inpatient services which include a complex care Consultant Unit, a Midwife‑Led Unit, a Planned Caesarean Section team and an Induction of Labour Suite.
About the Role
The role involves assisting, leading, nurturing and developing the maternity service. It requires providing evidence‑based, safe and effective care, supporting staff training and education, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist, lead, nurture and develop the maternity service.
* Provide evidence‑based safe and effective midwifery care to ante‑ and postnatal women.
* Support staff training and education, acting as a practice assessor and supervisor for student midwifery cohorts.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality maternal and neonatal care.
* Participate in planning and delivering services such as the Planned Caesarean Section team and Induction of Labour Suite.
Qualifications
* Experience as an NMC‑Registered Midwife, educated to degree level.
* Motivated and passionate about midwifery with women and families at the heart of all activities.
* Excellent team‑working skills and effective communication abilities.
* Willingness to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
