CAD Summer Placement – Transmission
Duration: 12 weeks commencing June 2026
Location: Glasgow, Perth, Inverness or Aberdeen
Salary: Circa £24,580 per annum (pro‑rata)
Working as part of our multi‑disciplined teams, we offer opportunities for students to support projects across our Transmission business. What is the role?
Our CAD team supports multi‑disciplinary teams across the Transmission business. During your placement you will use Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit software skills and BIM collaboration knowledge to support substation projects in the North of Scotland. Tasks will include creating and modifying 2D and 3D models, draughting drawings for planning and tender purposes, and supporting ongoing development of internal digital collaboration practices. This is an exciting time as we grow our in‑house CAD capabilities to meet ambitious business goals.
What do I need?
We have opportunities for those studying HNC, HND or degrees inclusive of Computer Aided Draughting & Design / Computer Aided Architectural Design & Technology / BIM.
We’d love you to show your passion for the energy sector, as well as demonstrable experience of working in a team. You should be comfortable working to and setting stretching individual targets and using your own initiative to overcome challenges. A genuine interest in SSE and a long‑term future with us is desirable.
