We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bricklayer to join a local authority’s repairs and maintenance team based in Newcastle. This role involves working on both void and occupied domestic properties.
We’re looking for a Bricklayer experienced in repairs and maintenance on domestic properties. You will be covering responsive repairs and this is a stable, full-time role ideal for someone with social housing or council experience.
Duties Include:
Laying bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry to construct or repair walls, partitions, and structures
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Measuring and cutting bricks or blocks to the required size using hand tools or power tools
Mixing and applying mortar to bond bricks together securely
Aligning brickwork using levels, plumb lines, and string lines for precision
Repairing and maintaining existing brickwork and masonry structures
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure sociable, full-time hours Monday to Friday. The hourly pay rate for this role is £18.58 Ltd (PAYE equivalent £15.94 inclusive of holiday).
You will be working a standard 37-hour week, with potential for overtime. An immediate start is available.
You will need:
Proven experience in Bricklaying, ideally within social housing or council work
Your own basic hand tools and PPE
Full UK driving licence
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
