What you'll be doing:
You will organise and supervise the unit according to the standards required by Compass Group UK & Ireland, the contract specifications, and statutory regulations. You will be responsible for the efficient management of the unit, ensuring a quality service. This includes overseeing food preparation, cooking, and service to meet standards and specifications, and making effective use of resources such as stock, team members, and assets.
Who you are:
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic guidance and managing the business through your team
* Previous experience in contract catering
* Communicating, motivating, and guiding your management team and catering staff daily
* Setting operational responsibilities and monitoring performance
* Taking responsibility for food safety and health & safety procedures in the college catering department
* Communicating regularly with clients
* Completing action plans based on customer satisfaction surveys
* Promoting the unit and acting as a Compass Group advocate
* Managing internal and external stakeholders effectively
* Ensuring all hospitality services meet standards and seeking feedback
* Identifying opportunities for service enhancement and discussing them with your line manager
* Bringing innovation and flair to the service
* Monitoring budgets and trends, and implementing corrective actions when needed
* Delivering customer requirements in line with expectations
