Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in a nursery setting. You will lead a team of practitioners, ensuring that all children receive the best possible start in their early years. Your expertise in early childhood education and your ability to communicate effectively with both children and parents will be essential in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care and education.
* Be responsible to opening and closing the nursery.
* Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to the needs of each child, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development.
* Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and collaboration.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures regarding childcare and safeguarding.
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, sharing updates with parents regularly.
* Create a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
* Support the professional development of team members through training opportunities and mentorship.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a nursery or childcare setting, with a strong understanding of early childhood education principles.
* Must have at least a level 3 in childcare
* Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
* Experience working with children aged 0-5 years is required; additional experience in managing teams is highly desirable.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous for potential off-site activities or training sessions.
