Job Description
We're seeking a proactive and personable IT Support Technician to join our in-house Tech Team. In this vital role, you'll provide first-line support to staff, helping to keep our systems, software, and devices running smoothly. From troubleshooting and system administration to working with server and PC technologies, you'll be central to delivering a seamless IT experience across the business. You’ll be joining a supportive team that values initiative, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
* The role is based at our Newton Abbot headquarters, with the opportunity to work from home one day a week.
Responsibilities of an IT Support Technician:
* Deliver 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, peripherals, and network communications.
* Respond to incidents via the Helpdesk or as assigned by the Lead Technician and Head of Technology.
* Support 3rd line activities and assist with server, network, and infrastructure development.
* Identify areas for improvement in system administration and infrastructure design.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to troubleshoot issues and find practical solutions.
* Take part in structured external training and development programmes as needed.
What you'll bring as an IT Support Technician:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows client OS, Microsoft Office, and Active Directory.
* Confident working with desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
* Basic understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS within LAN/WAN environments.
* Organised, adaptable, and comfortable handling multiple tasks in a busy team setting.
* Willingness to be flexible with working hours and take part in on-call support where needed.
* Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.
