Engineering and Technology Summer Internship
Duration: 10 weeks over Summer 2026
Starting salary: £23,600 (pro rata) + £500 joining bonus to support with moving and hybrid working
Location: Derby, Bristol, Solihull

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll get the chance to explore one area of our business, where you could work in innovation and concept development, design, testing, manufacturing, or service support - among many others. This means you might find yourself doing anything from exploring nuclear options for powering space travel, to helping develop exciting new demonstrator engines like our UltraFan. Or you could be using data, technology, and AI to reduce a power station’s environmental impact, test marine automation software, or help keep our company cyber-safe.
Thanks to a combination of digital learning and on-the-job training, you’ll build a wealth of new skills with the help of our experts – people who are as invested in your success as you are.
Who we’re looking for:
1. A degree in any STEM subject, or joint honours degrees that combine STEM with subjects like business or economics
2. A strong passion for the future of technology
3. A willingness to work flexibly and travel between locations: in most cases, you will be able to achieve the scheme requirements in the location you are recruited to, however, we may need you to be flexible and travel between sites during or for your rotational ‘gigs’
4. Being open-minded, curious and agile in your approach to work and career development
We see hybrid working as a way to balance and flex our time between the office, home, or another remote working place. Everyone is expected on site, on average, three days per week. But specific arrangements will vary from role to role and gig to gig. We encourage and support flexible working arrangements where we can.
