TRC Group are recruiting for an apprentice trained Electrical Maintenance Technician on a permanent contract for our well-known steel manufacturer. This role is to be based at Sheffield; 1 of their 3 sites.
As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer this will be a hands-on role working both independently and within the site Maintenance Team working on a variety of site machinery & equipment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Respond immediately to breakdowns, carry out fault diagnosis and repairs in a safe and timely manner.
* Complete a daily written report on work carried out, spares stock levels, PPMs etc.
* Monitor spares, identify when stock levels are low.
* Carry out preventitive maintenance tasks and HSE checks.
* Work on continuous improvement and project work to increase plant reliability, energy savings and cost reductions.
* Use initiative and judgement to make decisions and solve problems that are sometimes complex.
* Communicate effectively within the team.
* Carry out all duties satisfactorily and effectively.
* Contributing to out of hours and weekend working when required.
* Bring drive, enthusiasm, flexibility, and a conscientious approach to team working and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications / Personal Attributres:
* Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship / Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Electrical / Maintenance Engineering.
* Have at least 3 years previous experience as a Maintenance technician within an industrial environment.
* Use own initiative to identify electrical faults and carry out repairs on complex electrical systems.
* Demonstrate sound general knowledge of, and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation.
* Be capable of carrying out electrical installations including cabling and power supplies.
* Physically fit / healthy.
* Working at height using either access equipment or climbing ladders to fixed working platforms.
* Good organisational skills, including workload and time management.
* Proficient in reading electrical drawings & panel building / wiring including control circuits and motor starters.
Hours: 2 weeks of mornings / 1 week of afternoons

Monday – Friday 06:00 – 13:30
PM:
Monday – Thursday 11:00 – 19:30
Friday 10:00 – 17.30
